Autism Lives Here: Easter Edition

Autism Lives Here: A Sunday ritual.

Pictures that give a glimpse into our life with autism.  Pictures that may show how distinctly different our lives are from yours because of autism.  Or pictures that may show how similar our lives are regardless of autism.

Today’s pictures:

Brian found a new Playmobil zoo set in his Easter basket.  He immediately set it up (without instructions, just like a man) and started playing.  Pretend play is always amazing when you have a child on the spectrum.

However, after making the pandas walk around the playset and the man use his walkie talkie and binoculars, he engaged in some silly pretend play.  I watched him put the helmet on a panda and put the panda on the motorcycle.  The panda took off for a ride!

I made the man chase after him yelling, “Hey, come back with my motorcycle!”.  Brian giggled and made the panda go faster.

Silly pretend play is even more rare than pretend play that mimics real life.  What a great Easter morning!!

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday with their family!  Happy Easter!
