My Reasons

Today is my day, Mother’s Day.  I get to be showered with love and gratitude and I will appreciate every single second of it.

But I also have to thank them.  Thank them for making me the mom and the woman I am today.

Without my boys I wouldn’t have found my voice.  I wouldn’t have found the drive and the passion that I currently have.  I would’ve floundered some more while trying to find myself and my place in the world.

justme (2)I had my boys when I was young.  Parts of our lives would’ve certainly been easier if I had been a bit older when I had them.  Yet they gave me a push.  They were the reason to get out of my hole and chase my dreams so that they could one day chase theirs.

They gave me confidence.  They gave me strength.  They gave me hope.

They were, and they are, my reasons.
